General Description:
The NWRB Rookie Bend Adventure Package includes 3 Roadbook Tours in the Bend, OR area. They are designed for riders who are just getting started with Roadbook Navigation. The first Roadbook Tour contains basic navigation to get the rider started. Each of the next two Roadbook Tours are designed to build upon the skills learned in the previous ride.
If you have never done a roadbook before or are feeling a little rusty, start with this package. The roadbooks all have a WPE (Waypoint Eclipsed) at the first note, a DSS (Depart Special Stage), WPMs (Waypoint Masked) and an ASS (Arrival Special Stage) just like the more advanced Roadbook Tours. Every note in the first one has GPS available so it will be easy to get yourself back on track when you get lost.

Remember, you can always run them again to make sure you understand the basics before moving on to the next Roadbook Tour.
You will be riding thru curvy mountain roads. Stay to the RIGHT! There will be oncoming traffic. Be careful.
Try to concentrate on making a clean run, not going fast.

The NWRB Rookie - Bend-1 Basic Roundabout tour is designed to get you started with roadbook navigation. It loops all around Bend taking you on a tour of the many roundabouts. The navigation is straightforward, and every note has GPS location available to help if you really need it. The notes in the first 20 km even include the street name of the road you need to turn on to. The idea is to help you feel comfortable while learning the basics. This roadbook is a great way to practice in a familiar area.

NWRB Rookie - Bend-2 Around the Buttes

The NWRB Rookie - Bend-2 Around the Buttes tour builds upon everything you learned in the first Roadbook Tour. Start in Bend and meander your way out toward Redmond. You will explore beautiful neighborhoods as you make your way into the desert on some longer stretches. There are plenty of great back roads along this Roadbook Tour before it returns you back to the starting point. This route is all paved.

The NWRB Rookie - Bend-3 Canyon Run tour takes you on a longer journey from Bend. After the first two Roadbook Tours, you have what it takes to go on a longer loop. You will explore some of the nearby communities and ride in some great twisty canyons. The navigation is straightforward with a few long sections between notes. There are some great views along the ride. Of course, there are quite a few roundabouts as they seem to be everywhere in the area. Most of the route is pavement with a couple short sections of gravel to spice things up.
