Attending an event with Roadbook Tours to ride?
How does this work??
So you are attending an event where Northwest Roadbooks is providing Roadbook Tours. How does it work? What do you do to get started? How do you follow the Roadbook Tour? We want to answer those questions for you. Read on to get the skinny.
How do I get the Roadbook Tour for the event?
First, get yourself and your bike Rally Ready. Put the TerraPirata Rally Roadbooks app on your device ahead of time. Get one of the FREE Roadbook Tours available on the Northwest Roadbooks website and load it up on your device. Mount and power your device on your bike. Go out and ride it. Is your device mounted well and in a good spot? Can you see it well? Is your charging method working properly? Make adjustments to your setup based on what you learned out on your test ride.
Now you are Rally Ready!
For some events, we will have a link to the sign up sheet on the Event Page on our Northwest Roadbooks website. Take a look and you may be able to get it sorted out and save yourself some time at the event. For other events, the event organizer may have sent you the link to the sign up sheet directly. Watch for it in their communications with you.
Once you arrive at the event, look for Northwest Roadbooks Staff tent. We will be there to help you out. Stop by with any questions!
At the tent, we will have a posted QR code link to the Roadbook Tour Sign-up Sheet there. Scan it with your device and fill out the form with your info including your name and TP username. If you have a F2R Y1000 electronic roadbook, we will need its device ID.
We will use this info to get you access to the event Roadbook Tours. It will take us a minute to get this sorted out as it is a manual process. Once we get your info entered into the TP Roadbook Delivery System, the Roadbook Tours related to the event will show up in your list on TP.
I have the Roadbook Tour. Now what?
Now that you have the event Roadbook Tour on your device, all you have to do is open it up, head for the start point and begin following the route. The first note will be a WPE that will guide you to the starting location.
Be sure to take a look at the Basic Roadbook Navigation Blog post and prowl thru the other Blog Posts for more wisdom about how to follow the Roadbook Tour.
Have fun out there!!
